Personal Trainer & Group Trainer
I have worked in the health and fitness industry for over 25 years as a personal trainer,
educator, manager, and group fitness instructor. Starting my career working exclusively in
women’s fitness, I have since had the opportunity to work with high level athletes, those who are new to their exercise journey, and everyone in between. In 2010, I began work with Alberta Health Services and the University of Calgary on research projects studying the effects of exercise on chronic health conditions, including type 1 and type 2 diabetes, breast cancer and colon cancer. This sparked my interest in working with individuals managing ongoing health concerns, as well as pre- and post surgical injury management. This is what brought me to work at Synapse.
My focus is on an integrated approach with my clients: appropriate physical movement
patterning, a healthy mental state, sufficient sleep and recovery, stress management, and
proper nutrition. I am very excited to have recently returned to teaching as a lead instructor in a Personal Fitness Trainer Diploma program here in Calgary. I am also proud to have been named one of Canada’s Top Fitness Instructors of 2021 by Impact Magazine.
